Mikel Arteta's men managed six wins in what was a convincing European campaign.

Liverpool claimed top spot despite a 3-2 defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

Aston Villa also joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the top eight after a 4-2 win over Celtic.

However, Manchester City will have to make do with a play-off place after beating Club Brugge and just scraping through, and that will see them take a financial hit.

All 36 clubs in the League Phase have banked €18.62m (£15.6m) for participating, with €2.1m (£1.7m) per win and €700,000 (£587k) per draw.

Each position in the table is worth €275,000 (£230k) - which means the team that finishes second last in 35th claim double that at €550,000 (£461k) through to €9.9m (£8.3m) for the table-toppers.

The top eight will also rake in a €2m (£1.6m) bonus, with clubs finishing ninth to 16th earning €1m (£830k).

The prize money for reaching each knockout round only increases as well, with the outright winners at the Allianz Arena claiming £21.1m.

Performance-related prize money accounts for 37.5 per cent (€914m, £766m) of the overall pot, with UEFA's newly created value pillar taking up 35 per cent to split up broadcast revenue, and the final 27.5 per cent being equalled shared between the 36 clubs.
