  • Made in Tottenham

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou speaking to TNT Sports: "Really pleased. The objective was to try and win today and secure our spot in the top eight.

"I thought the boys were good, controlled the game and we were never really threatened. We had to bide our time as they sat deep, but they gave that up in the end to chase the game and the goals came.

"[The victory was] made in Tottenham tonight. I'm super pleased for the young boys, and we also shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we had a couple more teenagers out there too. I'm sure those three lads won't sleep tonight. We needed something tonight and the young lads stepped up.

"We've got another big week coming up so the changes at half time were about managing the load. We still picked up injury with Radu [Dragusin] which is not great, but the three lads at halftime are good.

"[On Dragusin's injury] It is too early to say what it is, we will need to investigate further. But it was his knee which is not good.

"We have another game on Sunday. The club will be working hard behind the scenes to see if we can get something done."

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim: "That is really important for us to have time to train and have the connection between everybody - even the staff.

"In training, we go to the pitch and get to know each other in the right environment.

"It is really important and then you can have one week to prepare again.

"Beginning of the week you can work your ideas and then have time to focus on the opponent.

"I can understand my players better. I put Kobbie Mainoo in that position, we need time to understand the players as he was struggling a lot defending as a midfielder.

"As a 10 he was so free playing the ball near the box.

"We need time to work with the players to understand what the best position is for them."

  • What could happen next?

  • Spurred on

Tottenham defender Ben Davies speaking to TNT Sports: "It was important to just get the job done tonight. We know those games can be banana skins the longer they stay 0-0. You can feel the anxiety around the place and it just builds. Thankfully this guy [Dane Scarlett] comes on and changes the game. A good win overall.

"He [Scarlett] came on in a game that was quite tough at times and he changed it for us. Dane's worked so hard over the last few years that I have been here with him.

"He's had to go on loan, play limited minutes in lots of games too. But to come on and play the way he did in that game was amazing. Nothing short of what he deserves."

  • 'You want to compete against the best'

Rangers captain James Tavernier speaking to TNT Sports: "We conceded a goal which we know as a team we should do a lot better. It made it closer. Delighted for the team and we sneaked into the top eight. We didn't have a clue until the end.

"I'm happy to play a part for the team wherever I'm asked by the manager I've still got the legs to go up and down the right wing.

"You want to compete against the best, European football is getting harder and harder each year and you want to test yourself.

"We'll take the weeks off, we can work hard on the training ground and properly train now. Delighted we can save those couple of weeks."

  • Scarlett fever

Tottenham forward Dane Scarlett speaking to TNT Sports: "It was amazing. I have been waiting for that moment for a long time. I have been on loan and experienced men's football. I feel really good now. Ready to kick on. Very happy.

"I have just been training hard with a clear mind and waiting for the opportunity. Today it came and I am just grateful that the team won."

  • GOAL! Tottenham 3-0 Elfsborg – Mikey Moore

Two youngsters with two goals to wrap things up for Spurs!

A much-needed confidence boost for the north Londoners as Moore caps the night with a darting run towards the box.

He has Dane Scarlett ahead of him but goes along and finds the far bottom corner to give Ange Postecoglou something to smile about.

  • GOAL! Tottenham 2-0 Elfsborg - Damola Ajayi

WHAT A MOMENT FOR THE YOUNGSTER!

Three minutes 39 seconds after replacing Richarlison for his senior debut, Ajayi has doubled Spurs' lead.

It's a finish a senior pro would have been proud of as he exchanges passes with Dane Scarlett before finding the bottom corner.

  • Who would Man United and Spurs face?

As it stands with 10 minutes left, Man United would be set to face one of Porto, AZ Alkmaar, Real Sociedad or Galatasaray in the last 16.

Tottenham meanwhile would be set to face one of Porto, AZ Alkmaar, Real Sociedad or Galatasaray.

  • Rangers now in top eight

The Gers might not realise but Nice have just equalised against Bodo and that has a huge ramification on their top eight hopes.

As it stands they are guaranteed a spot in the last-16 if results stay as is, thanks to them winning 2-0 against USG.

  • GOAL! Totteham 1-0 Elfsborg Dane Scarlett

YOU COULDN'T WRITE THE SCRIPT FOR SPURS FANS!

The academy star on for the injured Radu Dragusin has been the one to finally break the deadlock.

Fellow sub Dejan Kulusevski floats in a delicate ball from just outside the box and Scarlett gets in front of his man to head home.

  • GOAL!! FCSB 0-2 Manchester United Kobbie Mainoo

    MAINOO DOUBLES THE LEAD!

Huge moment for Ruben Amorim's side as they double their lead in Romania.

Mainoo, who had the clearest chance of the first half, finally converts this time to get on the scoresheet.

He made the first and now scores the second after cooly converting Alejandro Garnacho's low cut back at the edge of the box.

  • Radu Dragusin injured for Spurs

When it rains it pours for Ange Postecoglou!

His Romanian defender, on at half-time for Micky van de Ven, who himself was returning from injury, has now gone down hurt.

Dragusin seems to jar his right knee after playing the ball and is forced to hobble off after the hour mark.

Dane Scarlett on in his place.

  • GOAL!! FCSB 0-1 Manchester United Diogo Dalot

THIS TIME IT'S IN AND THE RED DEVILS LEAD!

The visitors have been much improved since Ruben Amorim's changes at the break and they finally have their breakthrough.

Amad Diallo's quick throw-in makes the difference as Christian Eriksen heads it into the path of Kobbie Mainoo towards the byline.

The latter drills a squared ball across the face of goal for Dalot arriving unmarked at the back post to tap home.

  • GOAL!! Rangers 2-0 Union Saint-Gilloise Václav Cerny

    THE GERS HAVE BREATHING SPACE!

Union Saint-Gilloise had a goal ruled out for a marginal offside before the break and now Cerny has doubled the home side's lead.

It's a fast break from Rangers that releases Cyriel Dessers down the flank and his low squared ball is turned home at the back post.

  • Garnacho hits the post!

    FCSB 0-0 Man United

WHAT A HUGE MISS FROM ALEJANDRO GARNACHO!

Ruben Amorim with a positive attacking change at the break, with Collyer and Malacia departing for Amad and Garnacho.

And it's the latter who should open the scoring minutes after the restart after a horror back pass puts him through on goal.

However, somehow, Garnacho beats the goalkeeper but not the post as his shot strikes the outside of the woodwork.

  • Tottenham changes

Micky van de Ven lasts 45 minutes on his return from injury but Spurs fans can relax - his substitution at the break was pre-planned.

    • Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Plzen

    • FC Twente 0-0 Besiktas

  • FCSB 0-0 Man United

No shot from either side for over ten minutes shows the levels in Romania, as the goals continue to fly in elsewhere.

Real Sociedad have taken the lead against PAOK, while Hoffenheim have levelled things up against Anderlecht.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho can breathe a little easier as his Fenerbache side have equalised against Midtjylland.

  • Tottenham so close to the opener

    Tottenham 0-0 Elfsborg

Spurs have the ball cleared off the line!

Son Heung-min is having a field day down the left-hand side and once again he's the architect of everything dangerous for the hosts.

The captain latches onto Lucas Bergvall's pass and drops a shoulder to dart past Besfort Zeneli before cutting it back from the byline.

His deflected low ball falls kindly for Pape Sarr in a crowded penalty box but it's blocked off the line by Niklas Hult.

  • Jose Mourinho losing

    Midtjylland 1-0 Fenerbahçe

Mourinho unmoved sitting in the stands as he sees his side drop into the elimination zone.

It's a huge goal for Midtjylland - it's another short corner that gets headed home courtesy of Ousmane Diao but such lax defending.

Meanwhile, Rangers have VAR to thank for preserving their lead as USG think they've levelled from Franjo Ivanovic.

A long ball into the box is touched on by Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister's brother Kevin amid a tussle with James Tavernier.

Ivanovic reacts fastest to prod home from close range but after a lengthy VAR check, the goal is ruled out for offside.

  • GOAL! Rangers 1-0 Union Saint-Gilloise Nicolas Raskin

    LIFT-OFF FOR THE GERS!

It's a brilliantly worked short corner routine that ends with Raskin heading home at the back post.

Captain James Tavernier exchanges passes with Václav Cerny before the former whips a deep cross into a dangerous area.

Raskin is left unmarked with a darting run into the six-yard area and stoops low to head home his first goal in 14 months.

  • Mainoo goes close

    FCSB 0-0 Man United

Not much to report from the three British clubs in action tonight, but Kobbie Mainoo has almost given the Red Devils the lead.

The England international makes a deft run in behind and shows great technical ability to flick the ball inside a defender.

He then attempts to catch a half-volley from a tight angle but he can't get over the ball enough to make the contact he wants.

Mainoo's scuffed shot is saved by the keeper.

The 19-year-old has an even bigger opportunity minutes later after Rasmus Hojlund finds him with a cut-back on the edge of the box.

However, Mainoo gets underneath his strike this time and leaning back side-foots an effort into the stands. Big chance!

  • What a start for Robbie Keane!

    Ferencváros 1-0 AZ

The Tottenham legend's stint in Hungary looks to be going swimmingly, with his new side already one-goal up.

Ferencváros is Republic of Ireland hero Keane's third job in management since hanging up his boots.

He first took charge of Indian side ATK FC in a player-manager role in 2018 before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv five years later.

He won the Israeli Premier League in his only season at the club before departing last June.

Ferencvaros announced earlier this month that Keane had been appointed, and Spurs fans might have torn loyalties tonight.

Another of the Lilywhites' ex-strikers Troy Parrott is on the bench for AZ and will be itching to get on against his compatriot's team.
